COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Lashkari Wealth Management is committed to expanding access to financial literacy and economic opportunity in the communities we serve, with a focus on practical, planning‑driven guidance that helps people make informed decisions at every stage of life. We partner with nonprofits, schools, employers, and local organizations to provide education, mentorship, and practical resources that help individuals, families, and small business owners evaluate their financial circumstances with confidence and clarity. Through workshops, small‑group programs, and one‑on‑one conversations, our team helps community members build foundational skills in budgeting, saving and investing, credit and debt management, business planning, and risk protection so they can better navigate real‑world financial challenges.

Beyond education, we seek to close gaps in access by meeting people where they are—whether that is a classroom, a local business, or a community event—and by collaborating with trusted community partners who already understand the needs and culture of the populations they serve. By combining objective, independent advice with ongoing support and follow‑through, Lashkari Wealth Management aims to create lasting improvements in financial confidence, resilience, and long‑term opportunity for the communities we are privileged to serve.

Supporting Small Business Owners

Since 2023, we have served as guest speakers and workshop leaders with SCORE San Diego, partnering to deliver actionable education to small business owners and founders on cash-flow management, strategic planning, risk management, and business transition and succession planning. Through interactive presentations, real-world case studies, and step-by-step planning exercises, our team equips owners with practical tools to understand their numbers, evaluate tradeoffs, and make informed decisions about growth, financing, and long-term continuity.

Our approach emphasizes simple, repeatable frameworks that busy entrepreneurs can apply immediately—such as cash-flow mapping, contingency planning, and transition-readiness checklists—so they leave each session with clear next steps rather than abstract theory. This work reflects a core belief that when small businesses are financially informed and resilient, they are better positioned to create jobs, reinvest locally, and strengthen both economic mobility and community stability in the regions they call home.

Fighting Hunger & Poverty

Since 2022, we have volunteered with San Diego’s leading food banks and hunger-relief organizations as part of our ongoing commitment to addressing food insecurity in the region. Working alongside Feeding San Diego, our team regularly assists with the sorting, packaging, and distribution of fresh produce and shelf-stable items, supporting large-scale efforts to rescue food and deliver nutritious meals to families facing hunger.

Since 2023, we have deepened this work by expanding our partnership with the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank through recurring volunteer shifts, corporate group engagements, and fundraising activities that help sustain critical programs for children, seniors, and low-income households. In recognition of these ongoing efforts, we received a MassMutual Community Service Award, which enabled an additional charitable contribution to support local hunger-relief initiatives and extend the impact of our volunteer time.

This work reinforces our belief that a strong regional safety net is essential for vulnerable populations, and that access to reliable, dignified sources of food is foundational to community health, stability, and economic mobility. By showing up consistently—in the warehouse, at distribution events, and through financial support—we aim to stand alongside the organizations and volunteers who are strengthening San Diego’s safety net every day.

Investing in the Next Generation

We support youth-focused nonprofits like the Boys & Girls Club, helping to provide safe environments, academic support, and enrichment opportunities that allow children and teens to learn, grow, and build positive relationships after school and during the summer. By engaging as volunteers and community partners, our team contributes to programs that reinforce educational attainment, social-emotional development, and exposure to new experiences for young people across the region.

In addition to direct youth programming, we lead financial education workshops for community organizations, covering personal financial planning, retirement readiness, and long-term decision-making in a way that emphasizes simple frameworks, real-world examples, and actionable next steps. These sessions are designed to help participants build confidence in managing cash flow, debt, savings, and investing, and to understand how everyday decisions can shape their long-term financial security and opportunities.

As a UC Riverside alumnus, we remain active in student and alumni initiatives that promote financial literacy, career preparedness, and financial wellness on campus, including support for workshops and programming that help students navigate budgeting, credit, student loans, and early-career financial decisions. Through this involvement, we aim to give back to the next generation of graduates by sharing practical guidance, mentorship, and resources that can help them transition from college to their professional and financial lives with greater clarity and confidence.

How Community Engagement Shapes Our Practice

Our volunteer work directly informs how we serve clients, shaping both our perspective and the way we design real-world financial strategies. The same principles that guide our nonprofit partnerships—clarity, education, and long-term collaboration—also define our advisory approach, from our first conversation through ongoing reviews and multi-year planning. By staying actively engaged with local small business networks, food banks, youth organizations, and educational institutions, we gain a ground-level understanding of the pressures families, entrepreneurs, and employees are navigating—from cash-flow strain and rising costs to career transitions and caregiving responsibilities.

This perspective keeps our planning philosophy grounded in the lived experiences of the communities we serve, helping us prioritize practical solutions, accessible education, and strategies that reflect each client’s values and desire to give back. Ultimately, this connection between community engagement and advisory work reinforces our commitment to contribute positively—through both our pro bono efforts and our day-to-day client relationships—so that financial planning is not just about numbers, but about strengthening households, businesses, and neighborhoods over time.
